Hello,
It’s been a while since I’ve reached out, and I wanted to take this opportunity to reconnect with you. Thank you for being a part of my creative journey—it’s because of your support that I’ve been able to keep exploring and sharing my passion for art.
What I’ve Been Up To…
Last year, I had the honor of collaborating with DKE Toys and exhibiting at Designer Con in Las Vegas which led to exhibiting pieces at the Giant Robot Post-It Show. These projects allowed me to experiment with new ideas that expand on my core painting practice. It also reminded me of the personal connections I make when exhibiting to the public.
Right now, I’m working on pieces for the La Luz de Jesus Gallery open-call group shows. While I can’t share these pieces until they’ve been submitted, I can promise they’re some of my most ambitious and personal works to date.
Expanding My Practice…
Since 2020, I’ve also been diving into 3D programs like Blender and Unreal Engine, which have opened up incredible opportunities for storytelling in new ways. Over the past year, I’ve been working on Puma Punku, using 3D modeling to recreate missing elements and visualize what the site may have looked like during its original use.
Last year, I contributed to an episode of Ancient Aliens. While the experience was time-consuming and admittedly a bit silly, it led to a series of meaningful collaborations with renowned archaeologists. Together, we’ve been working to visualize other archaeological sites, combining art and science to bring these incredible places to life. You can see some of this work on my YouTube channel @EslingerArt
In another unexpected turn, I created a website and YouTube channel called Wedding Visualizer, where I use Unreal Engine to bring the ideas of event planners to life. Four of the weddings I worked on were even featured in Vogue magazine. While this work feels separate from my main art practice, it reflects how much more I do now as an artist and visualizer than during my days traveling the country for art fairs and comic cons.
Reflections on the State of Art in 2025
In 2016, I created a series called Dystopic Selfies, reflecting my growing unease about the future of art in the age of social media and phone apps. Sitting down to paint in 2025, I feel many of my concerns have come to fruition, especially with the rise of AI.
This tension has inspired me to start writing more about the subjects I think about while creating art. Recently, I published an essay on my blog Are We Timeless. It was born out of a personal need to explore a topic I hadn’t seen discussed all in one place. Writing it reminded me of the value of sharing these reflections with those who appreciate my work. The essay has made me realize I need to write about the ideas that float through my head as I create art and share them with you.
